Help i cant join xbox360 live i have ntl broadband through my phone line with a usb modem? - usb ip phone

my modem I did not save the ports can not connect to my ethernet cable please can someone help me spend a lot on my Xbox to go on line, but I've tried do not let me put my line in my xbox I've tried USB modem to my line of Ethernet on the back of the computer, but nothing works, it says something about the IP address now is stressful can help me please, I just want to be online.
